Jan. 27: Winter wonder
Want to see animals that enjoy winter weather? Come to the Great Plains Zoo for its rescheduled Winter Wonder event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Catch zookeeper chats on bison at 11 a.m., bears at 11:30 a.m. and snow monkeys at 12:30 p.m.

Jan. 27: Sioux Empire on Tap
The 10th annual Sioux Empire on Tap will return Saturday with one VIP and two general session sampling times at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. The event will include more than 80 craft beers, ciders, spiked seltzers and more. Also available: live music, local vendors and food available for purchase. Jan. 27: Come skate with us
New Directions Down Syndrome Association invites you to bundle up for ice skating from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Tuthill Park. Ice skates are free to check out through the Sioux Falls Parks & Recreation Department. Cocoa will be served. You can RSVP by clicking here.

Jan. 27: Emily’s Hope Art Show & Auction
Bid on original work from legendary artists like Josh Spies, Jon Crane, Brad Kringen and more at this annual event to benefit Emily’s Hope, a nonprofit that supports education, awareness and treatment involving addiction. The Saturday event itself is sold out, but anyone can participate in the live silent auction. Click here to learn more. Bids by proxy are accepted at [email protected].

Jan. 28: All things Potter
So you think you know Harry Potter? For a day filled with wizarding magic, come to Granite City Food & Brewery from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday for Harry Potter Brunch & Trivia. Special cocktails and mocktails will be offered along with brunch features during the earlier hours. Reservations are requested.

Jan. 31: Jazz performance
Local jazz performers Gene McGowan & Friends will welcome fellow musicians the Olsen Brothers & Friends to Sioux Falls on Wednesday. The History Club of Sioux Falls will open the doors at 7 p.m., and the jazz will start at 7:30 p.m. Greg and Ralph Olsen are bringing , special guests, including Jim Mckinney, Jon Bakken and Steve Smith. Tickets cost $25; purchase them via Eventbrite by clicking here.

Upcoming: Feb. 10
Even those with wet noses are looking for love. So bring your pup to Canine Cupid at The Splash Bark 27246 SD Highway 115, Harrisburg, from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 10. There will be Valentine-themed photo shoots and art projects with pink puppy coladas at the Tiki Bar and treats for the humans too. Cost is $20. Please bring proof of vaccinations.
