Feb. 6: Archery for two

It won’t be Cupid shooting arrows on Friday night but you and a partner. Archery Outfitters Pro Shop, 1811 N. Lowell Ave., will host an introduction to archery for couples class from 7 to 8 p.m. at its indoor archery range. No experience is needed, and all the equipment is provided Register at 605-367-7999. If you can’t make it this Friday, there’s another event Feb. 13.

Feb. 7: Olympics and animals

Visit the Great Plains Zoo for for an Olympic-themed Enrichment Day on Saturday. You can watch zoo animals take part in special enrichment activities inspired by the spirit of the 2026 Winter Games, happening throughout the zoo and included with regular admission. The schedule will include tigers at 10:30 a.m.; Japanese macaques, 11:30 a.m.; coastal brown bears, 12:30 p.m.; and bison, 1:30 p.m.

Feb. 7: Cocktail seance

Poe’s Midnight Society: A Cocktail Seance offers a four-part storytelling experience inspired by Edgar Allan Poe. Four themed cocktails will be paired with an accompanying tale. Tickets cost $45 for the 90-minute event, which starts at 8 p.m. Saturday at Icon Events Hall, 402 N. Main Ave.

Feb. 8: Rail Jam

Head to Great Bear Ski Valley, 5901 E. Rice St., at 1 p.m. Sunday for the Spoke-N-Sport Rail Jam, which promises to be the closest you can get in Sioux Falls to the Winter Olympics. Each class will be given a set time limit to perform tricks for the judges. The event will take place at Terrain Park. You need to register at guest services by 12:30 p.m. to take part.

Feb. 11: Palentine’s Day

Alissa’s Flower Farm and Cellar 54 will offer a Palentine’s Friends & Flowers event at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Alissa Van Zweden will lead you in designing a flower arrangement featuring fresh tulips, roses and ranunculus. Jenna Snyder of Cellar 54 will offer a wine tasting with six pours. Cost is $65. Purchase tickets here. It will take place at Cellar 54, 716 S. Highline Place.

Coming up: Feb. 17

The good times will roll when Touchmark at All Saints, 111 W. 17th St., celebrates the color, culture and flavor of Mardi Gras on Feb. 17. Activities include a Mardi Gras 101 Workshop: A Taste of New Orleans with a history lesson and tastings of king cake, jambalaya and beignets along with music and crafts at 10 a.m., a Mardi Gras parade at 2 p.m. and a Mardi Gras dinner with jazz starting at 4:30 p.m. The Dalton Peterson Trio will perform. Call 605-496-0675 by Feb. 13 to RSVP to each individual event.
