Dec 27: Goodbye to 2024
SuFu Creative and Nordic Hall, 218 W. 13th St., will help you leave 2024 in the past when you create a smash plate. On a plate, jot down everything you want to leave behind to make 2025 your best year yet. After you’re done, you can smash it there, or take it with you to safely smash it later. A supply donation of $5 is suggested. The event will run from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday.

Dec. 27: Free zoo day
Celebrate your love for wildlife on Zoo Lovers Day on Friday when the Great Plains Zoo will offer free admission. Zookeeper chats will be offered in the cozy winter-viewing area, and you can learn about Japanese macaques at 11 a.m., snow leopards at noon and lions at 1 p.m.

Dec. 28: Stand-up comics
Looking for laughter? Stand-up comic Nathan Hults with special guest Eric the Green will share the humor at 8 p.m. Saturday at Titans Tavern, 215 S. Main Ave., Tea. Hults has opened for Kyle Kinane, Bob Zany, WWE’s Mick Foley, Chad Daniels and Lachlan Patterson. He is the winner of Club David’s 2013 Comedy Battle and The Foreman award and was named “Sioux Falls Funniest” in 2016.

Dec. 28: Musician returns
San Holo is a musician, producer and performing artist from the Netherlands. The co-founder of creative label bitbird will make his long-awaited return for a DJ set at PAve. The music will start at 9 p.m. Saturday. Presented by PAve and Pinnacle Productions, the event is free as a way to thank local customers.

Dec. 29: Chanukah and gelt
The Chabad Jewish Center of South Dakota will host a Lego Chanukah Celebration and Gelt Drop at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the South Dakota Military Heritage Alliance, 1600 W. Russell St. It is free, but tickets are available here to reserve Chanukah swag for the kids. New this year is the lighting of a 7-foot-tall Lego menorah at 4:30 p.m., followed by a gelt — or chocolate — drop by the Sioux Falls Fire Department. The event will include latkes and sufganiyot, which are jelly doughnuts; a bounce house; a Lego contest; and crafts for all ages.

Dec. 30: Introduction to parkour
Introduce your child to the sport of parkour in a two-hour event that will begin at 5:30 p.m. Monday at 605 Ninja, 2101 W. 41st St. Instructors will work through some basic obstacles such as vaults, warped wall, balance, rolls and precision jumps. Tickets are available here.
