Construction season is here, so we’re back with our weekly look at what projects are done, where you’ll find traffic impacts and what’s scheduled next.

What’s underway

41st Street: The outside westbound lane closure on 41st Street west of Grange Avenue is being extended to Willow Avenue to allow crews to make improvements to the ADA accessibility along 41st in this area.

Improvements will be made to accessible curb ramps and sidewalks with corresponding driveway restorations and concrete curb and gutter repairs.

The overall project will be complete in August.

Arrowhead Parkway: The last mainline concrete pour on Arrowhead Parkway east of Six Mile Road took place a week ago.

The contractor will be working on other concrete paving over the next several weeks for medians, sidewalks, turn lanes, side-street connections, etc.

All lanes of traffic are expected to be open by mid-August, and the project is expected to be fully complete by the end of September.

85th & Cliff: Work is progressing well at the intersection of 85th Street and Cliff Avenue.

Crews are working on installing the underground utilities and grading the roadway.

Paving is expected to begin in a few weeks. Work is still on track to be complete before school starts in August.

What’s next

Louise Avenue: Beginning today, the inside northbound lane on Louise Avenue will be closed south of 74th Street to allow crews to perform concrete repair. One northbound lane of traffic will be maintained during construction. Southbound traffic will not be impacted by this work. This work is expected to be complete in about one week.

Cliff Avenue: Beginning today, the outside northbound lane and outside southbound lane on Cliff Avenue will be closed intermittently between 10th and 26th streets to allow construction crews to perform storm-drainage repairs. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained in the inside lanes. This work is expected to be complete in about one week.

Minnesota Avenue: Beginning today, the outside traffic lanes on Minnesota Avenue will be closed intermittently between Second and Russell streets to allow the contractor to install street lighting. The contractor will have all lanes open to traffic by the end of each day. The intermittent lane closures are expected to be complete by mid-June.

57th Street: Beginning today, the outside westbound lane on 57th Street will be closed between Sundowner and Sertoma avenues to allow crews to install a gas line. This work is expected to be complete in about three weeks.

Western Avenue: Beginning today, Western Avenue will be closed from 15th to 18th streets from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to allow crews to perform road maintenance work. This work will be complete by the end of the day.

20th Street: Beginning early morning Wednesday, 20th Street will be closed to thru traffic between Seventh and Cliff avenues to allow crews to set a crane. This work will be complete by the end of the day.

Western Avenue intersections: Beginning on Monday, the intersections of 18th Street and Western Avenue and 22nd Street and Western Avenue will be closed to allow crews to perform concrete pavement patching. Only one intersection will be closed at a time, and each intersection is expected to be closed for one day.
