July 17-19: Pickleball champs
See the best of the state’s pickleball players — or take part yourself — at the South Dakota PPA Amateur State Championships hosted at The Jar Pickleball Club, 3701 S. Western Ave., from Friday through Sunday. Medalists qualify for rewards toward the 2026 PPA World Championships in Dallas. Events include men’s and women’s singles on Friday, men’s and women’s doubles on Saturday and mixed doubles on Sunday. There are five skill levels and six age groups.

July 17: Special party
Does your name happen to be Jess, Jesse, Jessie or Jessica? Get a free drink ticket starting at 8 p.m. Friday at Wileys, 330 N. Main Ave., courtesy of Wileys and Jess Meuzelaar for her 40th birthday. DJ KOR is coming out of retirement to pick out the music for the celebration. And if you’re not a Jess, Jesse, Jessie or Jessica? You’re still invited.

July 18: Izziscon
Izziscon, a free community celebration packed with inflatables, face painting, vendors and live entertainment, will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. Kids can learn to play their first card game or battle it out in Beyblade. The event, hosted by Izzi’s Gym, is free to attend. It will end at 8 p.m.

July 18: Bazaart No. 5
The fifth annual Prints & Repeat Bazaart Show will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Sunny’s Pizzeria, 1801 S. Walts Ave. It will include locally owned businesses, local artists and local live performances. More than 20 makers will sell original work, prints, jewelry, ceramics and clothing. The family-friendly event is free. Parking is available in the University of Sioux Falls lot across from Sunny’s on 26th Street’s north side.

July 18: PAve party
The fourth annual PAve Patio Party will feature Ookay, the gold-certified DJ and producer whose real name is Abraham Laguna and who has appeared at Coachella, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo and EDC Las Vegas. The party will run from noon Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday at 130 S. Phillips Ave. The event will take place on two stages and is free.

July 19: Honey Bee Festival
Whether you’re a bee enthusiast or just looking for a “sweet” day out, the third annual Honey Bee Festival will be filled with live music, food and, of course, lots of honey from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Laurel Ridge Event Venue, 47675 Slip Up Creek Road. Learn about the importance of honeybees and how you can help protect them, and don’t miss out on the chance to taste honey from local beekeepers and shop for handmade beeswax products.
