June 8: Coming Out Concert
The Rainbow Chorus of Sioux Falls will give a full performance of its Coming Out Concert at 7 p.m. Thursday at First Congregational Church, 300 S. Minnesota Ave. Songs will include “Seasons of Love,” “A Million Dreams” and “True Colors.” A freewill donation will be collected.

June 9: Music outdoors
Maggie in the Meantime, a blend of ballad, folk and storytelling, will perform in the plaza behind the Old Courthouse Museum from noon to 1 p.m. Friday. Bring your lunch, and enjoy the show. Admission is free.

June 9: Optimus Prime
Optimus Prime will pay a visit to Tractor Supply Co., 3520 N. Cliff Ave., from noon to 8 p.m. Friday along with the company’s Deep Dish Cookie Trailer. Optimus Prime will be available from 1 to 1:30, 3 to 3:30, 5 to 5:30 and 7 to 7:30 p.m., weather permitting. Photos are free with a cookie purchase.

June 10: Festival of Cultures
Lutheran Social Services and the Multi-Cultural Center will host the 2023 Festival of Cultures from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m, Saturday at Levitt at the Falls in downtown Sioux Falls. The free celebration of diversity is family-friendly and includes live entertainment, food trucks, crafts and kids’ activities. The Sioux Falls Lion Dance Team will perform, along with Durga Gurung, a Nepalses traditional dance; Starr and Dallas Chief Eagle, Lakota hoop dancers and cultural educators; and Pegan Musica Band with an Afrobeats dance. Pascuala Ilabaca and Sabor del Sur will perform at the Levitt at the Falls concert.

June 10: Flutterfest
The third annual Flutterfest is Saturday as the Great Plains Zoo and Butterfly House & Aquarium celebrate things with wings. Stop by the zoo picnic shelter between 1 and 4 p.m. Saturday for pollinator facts, games and information on the new Dakota Skipper breeding facility and pollinator garden. Bricks & Minifigs will have special butterfly Lego builds for the first 100 guests.

June 10: Junk at the Nest
The 13th annual Spring Junk Fest at the Nest will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. It takes place at Robyn’s Nest, 3720 S. River Bluff Road. Multiple talented artisans will set up in one convenient location. The Lunch Box will serve lunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is held rain or shine.
