My 605: Erica Wilcox
What’s home unless you make it your own? My 605 takes you inside the lives, loves and little secrets of those who call South Dakota – area code 605 – home.
This week’s My 605 features Erica Wilcox, business owner, Instagram influencer and owner of pigeon Best Dressed Bird.
My home in the 605 is: Born and raised in Sioux Falls.
The biggest reason I live in the 605 is: FAMILY!! I’ve lived in another state before, and my heart was homesick for being closer to my family! I also love South Dakota and all four seasons we have!
After home, I spend the most time here: With more family or friends! We all live in the Midwest!
When I need to get away, you’ll find me: Visiting a friend, or finding a lake. A little outdoor refresh is always good for my soul.
The best meal I ever ate in the 605 was at: Our go-to for our favorite meal is always Morrie’s Steakhouse.
My go-to coffee shop is: A Scooter’s.
My favorite place to grab an adult beverage in the 605 is: Any place with an outdoor patio.
When I need to experience the great outdoors, you’ll find me: At a nearby lake or park.
The spot I’d recommend for a date is: Any place downtown. We have such a fun downtown!
The best pizza in the 605 is: I’ve had Little Caesars ever since I was little — still a fave of mine hands down. And you have to have the breadsticks!
When my friends and I get together, you’ll probably find us: Outside, weather permitting, on a patio, backyard or park. For those with kiddos, a good stroller walk works too.
The place you never can go wrong taking kids is: A park, Sky Zone, Air Madness, Washington Pavilion, Butterfly House – so many good ones!
When I want to meet new people in the 605, I go: I’ve found the best friends through mutual friends. For example, my book club has been such a blessing. There’s new friends in the club and then people they know outside of the club I’ve met too.
The one thing I’m least crazy about in the 605 is: How fast it’s growing!
And finally, life in pictures. Here are the top three photos that most sum up My 605:
