Lineup announced for Washington Pavilion Live & Local series

Local singers, dancers, comedians, actors, musicians and other performance artists will be coming to the Washington Pavilion for a series of shows starting in September.

The Live & Local performance series will take place at 7:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month from September through May in the Washington Pavilion’s Belbas Theater or Schulte Room.

“We had an overwhelming number of applications following the initial announcement of this new series. It’s clear we have an abundance of talent right here in Sioux Falls,” said Bob Wendland, assistant director of performances at the Washington Pavilion. “We’re excited to continue to celebrate and encourage that talent with consistent live arts programming for the community.”

Here’s a look at the lineup:

Improv Falls – improv comedy

Night Shield – hip-hop

Oct. 19

Midtown Coffee Radio Hour – radio hour-style show with live music

Nathan Barrow & Carey Hofer – folk/Americana

Nov. 16

Ben Gertner – alternative rock

Cirka Performance Arts – acrobats

Dec. 21

Andrea Ross – Broadway/jazz

Janice Gilbert – country/Americana/folk

Jan. 18

The Good Night Theatre Collective – musical theater

Feb. 15

Sioux Falls Chamber Music Collective – immersive performance with music, poetry and dance

March 21

Jefferson Steel – Steel drum percussion ensemble

Xavier Pastrano – music with spoken-word poetry

April 18

Jordan Jaacks – Americana

Rich Show – singer/songwriter with band and visuals

May 16

Joey Colombi – juggling

Zach Dresch – stand-up comedy

Nathan Hults – stand-up comedy

“We have really hit the mark when it comes to delivering on our mission with Live & Local,” said Kerri DeGraff, chief operating officer at the Washington Pavilion. “As part of our commitment to supporting the arts community, we’re providing a platform for local performers to showcase their talent as well as providing entertainment opportunities and enrichment to the public.”

The series will kick off Sept. 21 with local improv group Improv Falls. Through short-form improv games and long-form improv stories, the evening will end with a performance from hip-hop artist Night Shield.
